The CD and DVD burning software of choice for an era when burning a disc was a meaningful act. Nero shipped with virtually every optical drive sold in the early 2000s.

Nero AG still ships Nero Platinum Suite

The interface changed. The need didn't.

Nero Burning ROM (yes, the pun is intentional) was the gold standard for burning CDs and DVDs. Mixtapes, software backups, bootable Linux discs, wedding video discs handed out to relatives — Nero burned them all.

By the time USB sticks and streaming made optical media obsolete, Nero had quietly burned a generation's worth of memories onto polycarbonate.

LEGACY

The soundtrack of the burn-your-own era: the spinning drive, the progress bar, the click of a finished disc.
